Out here on the back patio with my laptop, kids are in the pool, it’s cooled down to a bearable 86′ish degrees, but there’s a nice breeze so it’s pretty darn comfy. This all sounds much more glamorous than it is, really, LOL. But, it’s pretty nice anyway. Just popped the top on a Black Cherry Vanilla Diet Coke…those are really good. I was drinking way too many of them for a while, but haven’t had one in days, so I figure I’m okay.
So, how was your day? We started out going to the little local town just to drop off recycling, grab some lunch and hit the “tire park”, but then I realized that it was my last day to get back the extra $45 I had to spend on Bailey’s prescriptions because Walgreen’s computers were down last Friday night when we picked them up, so we had to change our plans and go in the other direction. We had chinese for lunch and it was pretty good, then hit Walgreens for my refund, WalMart to get the right size of chlorine tabs for the little floater I got for our little pool and headed home. I went the back way to avoid construction and was really hoping to find a shaved ice stand somewhere on the way. Just sounded good and C & B have never had it…but I couldn’t find one anywhere so we settled on Sonic Slushes, which were still pretty good. Grabbed some movies, we got Eight Below, Aquamarine and Yours, Mine and Ours. I hope to actually watch them all in the alloted five days, but we’ll see. I know the kids will like Eight Below and Yours, Mine and Ours, not sure about Aquamarine. But it looks like a cute movie and DH will be gone late tomorrow night, so maybe I’ll watch it after my chat.
So, let’s see, what else can I bore you with, LOL? Well, I did a layout that I am absolutely crazy about, so I guess I can show it to you… I so love the photo and wanted the perfect kit for it. I ended up using papers from the Key Lime Pie kit by Kristen Cronin-Barrow, which you can find at The Digi Chick. I also used some elements from Jan Crowley’s Little Black Dress set, also at TDC. Anyway, here’s the end result:

Very simple, yes, but exactly what I had in mind. I did a couple other layouts today, but I can’t share them because they’re being included as layout ideas in the next ACOT collaborative kit, Celebrate Life. It is a beautiful kit, full of fun patterns, bright colors, great stuff. It goes on sale Friday…check it out!
After reading Miss Kim’s blog and hearing about her Foreman grill and trying the fab demo stuff they do at WalMart on them, I decided to buy one. I have used it a couple of times, I think there’s a learning curve or just that it takes time to be confident that it can actually cook things in the time it says it will. I slightly overcooked the pork chops last week, but they were pretty good. Now I have steaks marinating and will fix baked potatoes and corn on the cob to go with them tonight. I’m going to be really careful and not overcook the steaks because I think they’ll be really good and I don’t want to turn them into boot leather by overcooking them, LOL.
Let’s see, what else can I bore you with? Well, I think I’ll close and flip through the two mags I got today. I don’t really love CK, all the trendy stuff does kind of get on my nerves, but still, I buy it. I do love Scrapbooks, etc. and got it, too…so, I’ll see what I can see in there. I hope to finish up Washed, Worn & Faded, vol. 2 this week and get it up for sale at ACOT. Might get another fun and funky, bright one up this week, though I’m not sure if it will be a Funky, Fresh & Fun series kit or just something cute and simple and fun to put up at ACOT. The customers there seem to love that kind of stuff and it sells well there, so I just might get two kits up over there this week.
So, enjoy your evening, I’m going to peruse the new mags for a bit before I have to go cook…
