She’s having a sale TODAY ONLY!

Run on over to Scrapbook-Bytes and load up on her great stuff!

Meanwhile, I have a list of things to do today including:

  1. Finish up a store I’m setting up for a designer whom shall remain unnamed at this point :) .
  2. Send out some gift certificates that are waaay overdue crop bonuses.
  3. Send out an ad about my Spring Fling! Promo and extend the coupon code dates through next week.
  4. Make up some new advertising graphics for Jen Strange’s blog .
  5. Catch up on the April Fool’s Contest (coming soon) over at DSD.
  6. Get the April Megakit ready to go for tomorrow…this is one FAB kit AGAIN!
  7. Do a layout with the April Megakit for the Newsletter, also coming VERY SOON.
  8. Find more details on the gallery mixer over at RAK Scraps…I’m a sponsor this month, but I’ve never been to one of these before so I need to figure out how it works.
  9. Laundry, housework, etc…

So, I think I’m going to shower, get the kiddos dressed and head out to the front porch with my laptop and let them get some good outside time.  It’s supposed to be 77 degrees here today so we have no excuse not to get out there and enjoy the Spring weather!

Hope you have great weather, too!  Enjoy your day!

Just a little quiz

March 28th, 2006 by admin

I found on Jasbeanie’s blog. I’ve only watched two episodes of the show, but I have to admit that I liked what I saw. I am not sure, however, that this quiz is accurate, LOL. But, this is what it said, so who am I to argue?

Which Grey’s Anatomy Character Are You?

You’re Izzie Stevens! You love to have fun and are the life of the party! You like to meet new people and just go crazy! You’re a good friend and always know what to say.

Stumbling block, top digi blogs and more

March 28th, 2006 by admin

Well, I am just hopelessly stuck on this Beach thing so…  I give up.  I’m putting the Beach Essentialz kit up in the shop and moving on.  If I get inspired later to do some accessories, I will.  BUT, I’m not going to keep thinking about it right now because I have another kit to finish as well as several more color palettes to work with.  So, look for the Beach Essentialz kit later today.

Top digi blogs…well, I didn’t want to do this. I know I’m not going to rank anywhere near the top of the list and for me, it would just be a reminder of my status or lack thereof.  BUT, in reading a thread at 2Peas, it seems that people go to the list to browse for new blogs to read so I should probably just go ahead and sign up and not worry about the ranking part of it.  I would love for some new readers to find me and this seems like a good tool, though for some reason, I didn’t consider this aspect of it at first.  Oh, well, added to my to do list, LOL.

Okay, more later…gotta get the day started!  Enjoy yours!

Still enjoying the new CD

March 27th, 2006 by admin

I just can’t get enough of it…WOW!

Okay, on to other things… I have been trying to put up a new promo every Monday, but this week, I decided to wait until I have the Beach Accessory Kits done so hopefully I can get to it tomorrow. Tonight is registration for school, not supposed to last long, but I still have to show up. The upside is, I can go to Walmart and grab some groceries after I get out with NO kids! I love them dearly, I really do, but man, taking them to Walmart is a battle!

So, anyway, just a tiny update on my day. Oh, and I know you guys are sick of seeing changes at DSD, but I hope you know we are always just trying to make things better. There was no Scraplift today because it seemed that everyone was getting a bit tired of it. So, now, Bree and I are going to share in weekly challenges and give you one really great inspiration that we WANT to share instead of two mediocre ones that we have to dig for…does that make sense? Just be watching the DSD Team Challenges Forum for our challenge every week. Oh, and I’m also working on some pretty major changes to some areas of the site…but don’t worry. It’s only going to make us better! “Everything we do…we do it for you”…LOL! But seriously, it’s true! So hang around because we plan to just keep getting better!

Blame it on Auntie Pea

March 26th, 2006 by admin

and she doesn’t even know me, I bet, LOL! I’m not sure whose blog I linked over to hers from, but she has a video on her blog by Teddy Geiger and, OMG, he is FANTASTIC! At first, I was just hearing the song, I had flipped to a different screen, and didn’t realize who it was. He has a John Mayer’ish sound and I was thinking, well, I have John Mayer’s latest CD, so what is this song. When I finally figured out where it was coming from and saw the video feed, I realized it wasn’t John Mayer, but some cute little guy named Teddy Geiger. Well, I loved it so much I had to buy the CD and I love the whole thing…really, the sound is wonderful and he wrote or co-wrote every song on it except for one. This guy is only 17 years old! Can you imagine the future he has?!? All I can say is WOW! So, this morning, I am enjoying a nice mix of Teddy, John and Norah Jones…they seem to flow really well together. So soothing and mellow…just what I need on a Sunday morning.

Okay, this was a nice break, now I’m off to work on the Beach Accessoriez Kits… I hate to go too themey with a kit, but Jan and Kristin had some fun ideas, so I created a Beach Essentialz Kit with all the basics and now I’m going to do a couple of different Accessory Kits that can be purchased separately. We’ll see how that works and if it’s a hit, maybe I’ll start doing a few kits that way. I think it’s a great idea because you can have an option of some themey embies or some plain ones or none at all. But, what I think is a great idea and what everyone else thinks is a great idea…well, we’ll see. Meanwhile, here’s a peek at the Beach Essentialz kit, coming very soon to Digidiva Designs!

Have a great Sunday and watch for the Accessoriez kits, hopefully later today!

WOW!

March 25th, 2006 by admin

You girls came up with some great ideas, but I don’t know if I’m that ambitious, LOL!  Sea Glass…I’m not sure exactly what you mean, Jan.  Could you show me?

Kristin, I don’t scan stuff, so I don’t know about the driftwood, but I do have some photos of worn wood that I might be able to cut some shapes out of for stickers or something.  I’ll have to look into that.

Meanwhile, check out my COOL calendar in the sidebar!  It lists upcoming events that might be of interest to you and updates regularly.  I just think it’s the neatest thing EVER!

Still working on the Beach kit and another one, much more like me, bright colors, lots of patterns and fun stuff.  Stay tuned…hopefully, between my chores and DSD stuff, I can work in the time to finish these up this weekend.  I’ll let you know.

Oh, speaking of DSD, we’ve made some changes to our challenge forums.  Now there are only two, one for team challenges and one for member challenges.  We hope that encourages some of our members to share what inspires them with the rest of us and allow for our team members to post when they’re truly inspired rather than having to “work” to come up with a challenge on a weekly basis.  So, there may be less challenges overall, but we hope they are truly inspiring for you and we also can’t wait to see what kind of fun stuff our members come up with!

Okay, gotta go get some sand for my son to play with his new construction machines and get out for a bit.  Have a great day!

Friday, Friday…

March 24th, 2006 by admin

Well, how’s everyone? Things here are good, most of the things on my to-do list are at least in process if not completed. I do have two kits I so need to finish up and a ton of palettes hanging out in my ideas folder. I’ve been working on a project for the designers at DSD and have been concentrating on that rather than designing so I’m behind again. BUT, the project is really coming together so I’m so excited about it. It’s just really an organizational thing for the girls, but I’ve been looking for a solution for us it seems like forever and now that I’ve figured it out, it’s just amazingly simple!

I guess we’ll be out and about today. We have movies and library books due back today. I think we’ll get out this morning so that we can get back by lunchtime and naptime. Who knows, maybe I can even finish up one of these kits since it is AD day. I really need to finish up the “Beach” kit (see sampler below), but I’m sort of stuck on embellishments for it…it’s just a different sort of feel and I don’t know what to put with it…any suggestions are welcome! In fact, if I use yours, I’ll give you the kit! Leave me some comments!  I should probably add, though, that these must be unique suggestions and I’ll only give the kit to the first person who makes the suggestions I use :) .  Gotta have some rules here!
Yes, this was short. I have a long, deep, philosophical post in me, but I don’t have the energy to write it this morning…look for it coming soon, though, LOL!

Have a great day!

Barnes & Noble, idea books, coffee and quiet…

March 22nd, 2006 by admin

Well, mostly. The kiddos are with me and I don’t have the coffee, yet…but I will. I just grabbed the Scrapbooks, etc. Design Secrets Idea Book off the shelf. I looked at it the other day at Kelley’s house and decided I have to have it. It is so full of great stuff, it seems like the kind of book that, when I’m feeling stuck or have lost my mojo, I can just open up, point to a page and do a scraplift. So many great layouts in here!

Why are we here? Well, DH is the president of the local cattlemen’s association and as such, I got the job of doing the newsletter, but since he needs 120 copies and it is 4 pages long, I can’t print it at home. So, I brought it to Kinko’s and we came here to kill time. It’s good, really. I bought a 2 hour block of internet access, I’ll go grab a coffee in a bit. My kids love books, so they will amuse themselves here pretty well for a good bit. BUT, the guy said it could be as late as 6 before they’re done and it isn’t quite 3, so I don’t think we’ll last here this long. But, we do need a few things from Walmart, so we’ll hang out here as long as we can stand it, hit Walmart and then just hope that they’re done by that time. We’ve been eating out way too much lately, bad for both the pocketbook and the waistline, so I had hoped to get home in time to cook tonight, but if they aren’t done ’til 6, it isn’t likely.

On another note, school is on! I was a bit worried. The program is a degree completion program for adults and was postponed last month because they didn’t have enough people enrolled. They had rescheduled orientation for this coming Monday, but since I hadn’t heard, I called to check yesterday and they weren’t sure because the program coordinator was out sick. I was really worried because they said if we didn’t start this month, it would be August and I would have been out of my loan grace period and have had to start making loan payments which is the last thing we need right now. Thankfully, though, I got a call this morning and we’re on. Whew! So, it’s back to school for me next Monday night. Business Information Systems…ho hum, right? Well, it was that or accounting and if I had done the accounting, I would have had to go to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Now, no offense meant here, I even have a new DT member who is an alumni of that school and it is a wonderful institution…but for a non-traditional student like me, it probably isn’t the best fit. I also would most likely have had to go four days per week, which I didn’t want to do because I’m not quite ready to give up my kiddos that many days just yet. This program meets one night per week so that will work much better for my schedule. So, now I’m anxious to get started and see what it will be like. I have to challenge myself to do better because my study habits the last couple of semesters were far from great. I am more than capable of A’s in most courses if I apply myself at all, but last semester, I just couldn’t get Calculus. I’m so glad that’s over. Anyway, there’s an update on that.

Well, I think I’ll go browse the gallery at DSD and leave some praise…I need to catch up on that. The coffee is calling and my son wants me to read to him, so I’ll close. Have a great evening!

This one really will be a little one…

March 21st, 2006 by admin

First, I am so proud of my new titles, but there is a tiny little quirk in IE that I need to fix…but don’t know how.  In FF, the gap between title and post is perfect, in IE, it’s too big.  So, I want to fix that, but otherwise, I think I’m pretty darn happy with the new digs and will be cancelling my Typepad account tomorrow.

In other news, no, I didn’t scrap last night…or today.  I woke up with a headache to end all headaches and it just wouldn’t go away.  Finally, tonight, after a handful of tylenol and a short nap, it is gone…thank goodness.  But, after such a miserable day, I just want to turn in early and hope for a better one tomorrow because I have lots to do.  So, sleep well…I bet I do!

Just a short one…

March 20th, 2006 by admin

Finally, I got my shop updated with a new special this week…you should check it out because buying one kit at regular price gets you an awesome deal on anything else you buy.  I also added Gift Certificates that are easier to find, made the previews of my new items bigger in the sidebar and did some cleanup work.  I am working on a couple of kits now, but I just didn’t feel like trying to finish them up tonight.  I did get my weekly challenge layout for AF done.  Here it is:

Stay

I love this photo and looking at makes me wish he could just stay this age forever…so, I thought it was an appropriate title.  And, considering that the alpha is multi colored and I actually had all brown letters to spell out the word, I decided it must be a sign.  The other colors would not have matched at all, LOL.

My connection is back to being not-so-good again.  It is so strange…my theory is that he has a client he doesn’t know about running some kind of major bandwidth hogging operation out of his house and he travels for business so when he’s gone, it’s good, when he gets back, it goes to heck again.  I can not possibly come up with any other explanation for why it works just fine for weeks at a time and then, in the blink of an eye, it goes to heck for a few days, then goes back to normal again.  AARRGH!  Anyway, enough crying about that.  I think I’m going to try to do a digi layout really quick like with my ACOT exclusive kit, Spring Fling.  We are scraplifting Heather Thompson this week as the Scraplift Challenge of the Week at DSD because she is our Diva of the Month.  So, I’m going to see what I can come up with for that.  Oh, while we’re talking about challenges, we’re batting around an idea of having a forum where members can post their own challenges, whenever they want and cutting back on the designer sponsored challenges at DSD because, well, they’re alot of work for some really busy people and we are afraid we might be overwhelming everyone with so many of them.  We are also considering an additional forum for our CT members to post their own challenges as well…I’d love some feedback on this idea, so please feel free to leave me a comment on it!

We plan to be home all day tomorrow, so I hope to get a contribution done for the April Megakit at DSD, a layout or two done, the newsletter I have to do for DH and a few other little catch-up items I have on my list.  We had a birthday party today for a friend of ours.  It was at a Chuck e Cheese kind of place and the strangest thing happened.  I saw two people that I had not seen in years!  I mean, one had been about 20 years (yes, I’m making myself feel so old, but we went to school together from about the second grade up) and the other, probably close to 15.  More weirdness, one of them was actually invited to the party because her daughter goes to school with the birthday girl…and even more weirdness, both of them are ARTISTS!  One is an art teacher, one does commissioned paintings and murals.  How much weirder can it get?  Oh, and to top it all off,  none of us are from here.  We all grew up in a town about an hour south of here, but we have all relocated up here.  Anyway, one of them, the old school friend and the painter, gave me a card and I’m going to send her an e-mail.  She wants a gallery set up for her work, so I will try to help with that, but it was just so cool to see someone that I hadn’t seen in so many years, I hope to get together and catch up a bit sometime.  She has three kiddos, one in school, one fairly close to C & B’s age and one 2 1/2 years old.  Nice also to meet another mostly SAHM my age that has kids close in age to mine.  Very cool.

Well, what started out as a short post has become quite lengthy so I’m closing now to work on that layout.  I’ll post it here tomorrow.
